More About Camp

How a Camp Day Works

Warrior Week is all about traditional skill. Each day is split into three parts — games to warm up, a focused sword class, and an archery class — so kids build real technique while having a blast.

Everything takes place inside our studio, out of the sun and in air conditioning when it's needed.

Battle Week levels up the fun with solid foam swords. We start with technique and skills, then move into one-on-one and two-on-two matchups before the big group battles.

From Wednesday on we head to nearby Griffith Manor Park for battle royals, team battles, and kids-versus-instructors showdowns. The foam swords are safe but firm, so it's best suited to kids who enjoy active, physical play.

Drop-off starts at 8:45 with mat games and social time, and technique plus the first class kicks off around 9:15. A snack break follows at 10, then more games and sword play.

The late morning is sparring and a second class from 10:30–11:30, with mat games and cleanup wrapping up by noon.

Questions

Summer Camp FAQs

Does my child need previous experience?

Not at all. We start from scratch and meet every camper where they are, helping each child grow in technique and confidence at their own pace.

Is Battle Week safe?

Yes — we use solid foam swords and emphasize control over winning. As with any active sport, the occasional bump or scrape happens, but injuries are minor and rare.

What should my child bring?

A water bottle (we have filtered water for refills) and a snack. Wear a t-shirt and shorts or pants — all other equipment is provided.

What is the age range?

Camp is designed for ages 7–11, and most campers are 9–11. If your child is a little outside that range, call (818) 588-4995 and we'll talk it through.

Can we visit before signing up?

Absolutely. Call or text (818) 588-4995 to set up a time to tour the studio and meet Master Kyle Billingsley.
